The model below is the original NorthMountains vision that prompted Deborah southward from Maryland in fall 2000 in the expectation of a HUD grant which would finance the acquisition of a first piece of land and 1st year’s start-up expenses.
The grant vaporized in the first round of GWBush budget-cuts that spring, leaving Deb to scramble to keep body and soul alive while trying to move forward on the dream as resources and opportunity permitted.
